Job Description

The Sponsorship and Marketing Department is seeking candidates for a spring/summer internship beginning in April and continuing through mid-August.  Candidates must be outgoing, quick learning, self-starters and possess acute attention to detail.  This is an exciting, fast-paced, fun position for the right person who can gain a lot of experience in a short period of time.

Primary responsibilites are as follows:

  •     Assist Sponsorship Department with keeping comprehensive Sponsorhsip files, which includes, but is not limited to, monitoring media outlets, photo taking, and updating databaases relevant to 120+ sponsors
  •     Assist with Fair set-up and numerous on-site responsibilities during the annual Wisconsin State Fair, including daily sponsors
  •     Provide general administrative responsibilities including preparing expense reports, copying, answering phones, filing, and other general duties as requested
  •     Work closely with Public Relations department on social media efforts
  •     Coordinate mass mailings of sponsor related contracts and fulfillment materials
  •     In addition, serve as a member of the Wisconsin State Fair Street Team, promoting the Fair at various family-style events in and around the Milwaukee area throughout the months of April, June, and July

Job Qualifications    

Ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

  •     Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required; basic knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrater a bonus!
  •     Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with sharp attention to detail are mandatory
  •     Organization and excellent editing skills are mandaatory
  •     Positive, energetic, flexible and confident team player with a “watever it takes” attitude, who is not afraid of spontaneous redirection
  •     Keen interest in learning the ropes of the marketing/sponsorship/event planning industry
  •     Individual must be able to withstand an ever-changing, stressful, fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  •     Must have a valid driver license and access to a vehicle

Compensation & Benefits    

Internship will be paid, with the opportunity to receive school credit.  College and University students should check with their advisor for approval.
