Marketing Internship Opportunity
The University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension office of Waukesha County is seeking a marketing intern for collaboration, research and consulting. The intern will be responsible for undertaking independent research, innovative problem solving, and effective communication. Duties shall include:
1. Marketing Program Analysis
• Identify marketing industry techniques used to objectively & quantitatively gauge the success of an organizations marketing program.
• Collect data & observations to report upon the present Marketing strategy. Compare your findings with similarly situated organizations. Present your findings to office staff.
• Identify common marketing strategies, and propose several marketing strategies to the social media team.
• Propose a set of specific, measureable, and realistic goals. Propose a schedule of deadlines respectively for these goals.
• Propose a system of monitoring & accountability that will ensure long-term compliance.
2. Procure & utilize free marketing Resources
• Locate people and organizations within the community which can be used to further educate and improve upon the marketing strategy
• Propose specific ways these resources can be used, and share this information with staff
3. Branding
• Report on what Branding is, and what makes branding successful.
• Identify branding used by similar organizations, and compare & contrast. Evaluate the pros and cons of our present brand, and propose improvements, by citing research and trends.
• If necessary, work with graphic design artist to consider new appearance on print/web media.
• Identify criteria for a successful slogan, and propose slogan options
4. Social Media Team Participation
• Attend social media team meetings as needed to communicate value.
• Work with web developer to brainstorm ways to use standard marketing to enhance web marketing. Set Goals & deadlines, report findings.
• Utilize web surveys to conduct marketing research
• Coordinate with VENDI marketing team
Compensation: unpaid, can receive up to 3 credits in BUS297
